Andrea and Michael’s Carova Wedding!

June 24th, 2015

There’s something about a wedding in Carova that fills my heart with joy. Whether it is the exclusivity of being surrounded by miles of beach or its romantic aura, either way I find myself lost in these photos of Andrea and Michael’s wedding. If one thing is certain about this duo’s wedding day it is that it’s filled with not only their love for each other, but their amazing family too! I have been eager to share photos from Andrea and Michael’s May wedding, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Congratulations to these adorable newlyweds!

Featured: Outer Banks Magazine – Volume 3

May 29th, 2015

With their 2015 edition hot off the press, I am excited to share more photos taken during our shoot for Outer Banks Magazine – Volume Three. The cover of the Outer Banks Magazine was taken of the lovely Kim Franks posed in 1971 MGB convertible along the beach road in Kitty Hawk. Everything about this shoot could not have gone more wonderful, and it was such an honor to capture this cover for another year. Today I am sharing a few of my favorite moments for the shoot! Be sure to snag your copy of Outer Banks Magazine when you’re on the Outer Banks or click here to view the digital version.

Wedding Wednesday: Bridal Portraits

April 29th, 2015

One of the most traditional wedding keepsakes are bridal portraits. Keeping up Southern tradition, I havefound that more and more brides request to have their portrait taken prior to their wedding. As the Outer Banks is a destination wedding location, many brides believe they do not have time before their wedding to get their photo taken, but this is not the case! Scheduling your bridal portrait before the wedding is the perfect opportunity for a makeup and hair trial, and it gives you more flexibility on your big day. The biggest bonus – you’ll feel so much more comfortable posing in front of the camera!

If you have questions about bridal portraits, we’d be happy to help! Feel free to send us an email: info@beach-productions.com.

Learn to Love Your Camera

April 27th, 2015

Happy Monday, friends!

I’ve been so lucky to capture beach portraits for new and returning families for years (18 to be exact!), so in celebration I wanted to add a spin to my “standard” sessions. For months I have been dreaming up a new way to interact with my clients and Outer Banks vacationers on another level, and today I cannot wait to share exciting news from Beach Productions!

Starting this Spring, I will begin teaching beach portrait sessions! We know vacationers coming to the Outer Banks seek fun, different activities and I believe this just the solution. In one hour you’ll learn to love your camera, and capture perfect, luminous beach portraits. By teaching you how to use your camera, the best approach for lighting, and 101 basic techniques you’ll walk away feeling confident to shoot your own beach portraits. This is something that no one else offers on the beach, and we hope you are just as over-the-moon for this new venture as we are!

Here’s the skinny on pricing…while we have two packages for you to choose from, both will leave you feeling like a professional photographer.

  • Package One: $400
    • Includes: One hour lesson on learning to use your camera (please bring your manual!), lighting and 101 basic techniques.
  • Package Two: $1000
    • Includes: One hour lesson on learning to use your camera (please bring your manual!), lighting, and 101 basic techniques. I will also capture your beach portrait (posed of family or documentary) for 15-20 minutes, and you will receive a CD of the photos I shoot.
