Lauren and Corey’s Wedding Day

August 13th, 2014

Lauren and Corey’s wedding day started off with their “first look” of the bride in her gown, and although for the rest of the evening they were nothing but playful and easygoing with each other, this moment was one of romance so sincere that we were instantly taken with the adorable couple. After a touching waterside ceremony conducted by a close family friend of the groom, the party began just a few feet away in the pavilion. The reception was classic elegance meets modern whimsy- tables were adorned with navy tablecloths and cheery summer florals, and from the ceiling hung billowing white fabric, rustic window frames, and teeny floral arrangements in glass jars. We just loved Lauren and Corey’s laid-back nature – Lauren changed into little white Keds immediately following the ceremony and Corey kept us laughing all night.

Gloria and Jeffery’s Big Day

August 11th, 2014

This amazing couple, who happened to have just had a baby, decided to host pure beach wedding perfection at the Whalehead Club in Corolla, NC. With the help of Kerri from “The Proper Setting”, they married in elegance and romance, next to the beautiful water… greens + yellows…their day was both rustic and timeless. We just love this wedding!

A picture is worth a thousand words…

August 2nd, 2014

Sometimes a single, breathtaking picture can so beautifully and eloquently describe everything we want to say about a couple and their wedding day. This is Jessica and Tim, captured in a moment of utter joy and undeniable romance after their wedding ceremony in Corolla last month. We wish them this kind of happiness every day throughout their marriage. xoxoJulie Dreelins Beach Productions

Liz & Griffith’s elegant Whalehead wedding

July 21st, 2014

Liz and Griff’s spectacular wedding week began with a welcome dinner for all 170 guests hosted by Griff’s parents, Carla and Mitch Norville, at their home in Pine Island.  This beautiful home is the second oceanfront house on the same property; the Norvilles first home burnt down in a fire that consumed three houses in April 2012.  The Norvilles live in Pine Island for at least half of the year and could think of no better way to celebrate the construction of their new house then to host all of Liz and Griff’s guests for a fantastic night of food and fun.  Catered by Red Sky and decorated by Bells & Whistles, with rentals from Ocean Atlantic, the welcome dinner kicked off the wedding weekend.

Griff’s family has long visited the Outer Banks (they even built two houses here in the 1990s) and they were happy to share their love of this ribbon of sand with Liz who grew up in Miami.  Liz fell in love with the Outer Banks immediately and always looked forward to visiting several times each year.  Even though they live in Philadelphia, Liz and Griff knew they had to have their wedding in Corolla.  It was important to the couple that their family and friends who were traveling from all over the country would feel welcome and cared for.  And Liz and Griff also wanted to share their love of the Outer Banks by showcasing its natural beauty and all it has to offer. Whalehead fit their vision perfectly – a gorgeous ceremony on the Point followed by a tented reception where Liz could bring her Miami flare to the decor and create a beautiful and unique environment through the design of Bells & Whistles and Blue Steel Lighting was exactly what Liz and Griff wanted for their special day.  A fantastic band kept the place rocking all night after amazing catering by Ocean Boulevard featuring local ingredients and North Carolina flare.  At one point during the night, all 170 guests were on the dance floor – no one was sitting!  The entire evening was the perfect reflection of Liz and Griff – elegant, sophisticated and fun.  Guests from all over the country raved about the ceremony, the food, the cake, the band, the decor.
To end the celebrations, the Norvilles hosted a brunch the next day for all of the guests.  It was the perfect ending to a perfect week.
