Jewish Beach Wedding at Kitty Hawk Pier on the Outer Banks

October 30th, 2011

We just cannot get enough of Kitty Hawk pier beach weddings at the Hilton Garden Inn at milepost 1 on the Outer Banks.  It just may be the coolest little rustic venue ever....we all know there are plenty of piers around with water underneath you for the whole wedding event, but the rustic-ness of the pierhouse combined with our staff photographer Chris's amazing talent as lead photographer at this event gives the place even more personality and wow factor.  After exchanging wedding vows, the groom stepped on a wine glass to symbolize the fragility of human happiness, then they all proceeded in to the rustic Kitty Hawk pierhouse to do the Hora-the traditional Jewish wedding dance....can we adopt this at all weddings? Why not? - Julie

Christine and Michael’s Eco Wedding Bash at Kitty Hawk Pier Beach

October 23rd, 2011

I just loved the details in this Eco wedding!  My favorite were the signs made out of beach wood that they found themselves after hurricane Isabel, but they also had mini garden flower pots as gifts for the guests with the couples names and wedding date on them, hand picked shells, an and a large old vintage window frame found by the couple to show pictures of their favorite flowers.  The florist did an excellent job infusing their "eco" style throughout the wedding with touches of bright color, infusing the color of green to be reminded of the re-purposed and recycled items to keep the budget in check - DIY brides, eat your heart out!-Julie

Sunrise Wedding at the Sanderling in Duck, NC

August 31st, 2011

Jennifer and Micheal

August 9th 2011

This one is just off-the-charts amazing, folks!  An angelic, sweet, perfect sunrise beach wedding at the Sanderling in Duck, NC.  This bride had a vision and stuck with it starting with a lovely intimate entrance at sunrise for just the family, a walk on the beach, then having the ceremony afterwards.  The entire, and I mean entire wedding was on the beach from the ceremony to the brunch, to the first dance to the cake. What a fantastic idea ending in an amazing dip in the ocean after brunch for the whole family of 9.  It was a truly special morning that all vendors from the amazing staff at The Sanderling Resort, to the flowers from Shirley from Sugar Snap Florals, Scott Fransson on Guitar, Jay Bowman as minister, and myself and my staff felt blessed to be a part of.  To all brides out there, more of these weddings please! - Julie

  1. Love it! You did an outstanding job capturing the emotion and the pureness of the day. Watching the sunrise with our family really was a special time and so significant of our new beginning together as a family. Your professional yet fun personality was a treat and we look forward to having your photograph our family for years to come.

A Jeanette’s Pier 4th of July Bash

August 21st, 2011

This reverse beach wedding on the 4th of July at Jeanette's Pier in Nags Head, NC is nothing short of stunning.  The ceremony which took place after sunset, was so intimate. Italian lighting and lanterns for each bridesmaid gave a glowy, romantic look to the bride coming down the aisle behind them. The red, white and blue theme splattered everywhere from the carefully picked out  printed tablecloths, paper enhanced candles, to even the flowers.  The bride thought of everything! Fried watermelon balls to shrimp martini's to sliders . ..which the amazing Black Pelican Restaurant served with style.  Thank you Beth Pallette of Engaging Events and Jeanette's Pier for helping to make this event and the photography a huge success!  Of course, hats off to our amazing staff photographer Chris Bickford for leaving these amazing out-of-this-world photos in his wake.

Chris Bickford's image of the bride above sitting on the beach looks so dramatic and amazing, it seems as if he used a spotlight wish i knew how to get that color. Looks great!

  2. Thank you Brian, yes, that lighting is definitely one of our secrets, that and Chris's amazing photoshop work. Keep your eyes peeled on the blog for our upcoming workshop!

Samantha and Rick

From the Bride, " I just received the link to our wedding photo's; they are AMAZING! I cannot thank you enough, you made us all look so beautiful and captured every moment perfectly. I actually got teary-eyed when I started looking at them, it was such an important event in our lives and because of you we will never forget how we felt on that day. Your images will not only help us remember the big events, but even the smallest details. Best of all you were able to capture the love from everyone in attendance and for that I am truly grateful.

Thanks so much again, Julie; we sincerely appreciate the time you so clearly put into making our big day look so beautiful!"-Sam and Rick
