From the Bride:

OK! WOW! SO I've been on the phone with my sister and we went over these photos over and over! YOU DELIVERED EVERYTHING I HAD HOPED FOR AND THEN SOME! You captured all the joy and fun and happiness and goofiness and seriousness and love that all these people have for one another, not just Glenn and I but the whole special group. It feels like this was how I wanted the pictures to turn out and you made it real! I cannot wait to see the rest, what a completely satisfying moment for GLenn and I!

I have to tell you how homemade this wedding was. I think you'll enjoy it. My husband to be did my hair, for his first time and got it perfectly. I honestly believe the deeper coloring made it photograph better and made my eyes pop bluer in the pics! It just worked! And you were right, the lighting was beautiful!

I called to order flowers a few months ago...the bill was going to be ridiculous...so I called Harris Teeter and asked if I could order flowers there and make my own. They let me! So...even though the other florist places were way cool, since I had done flowers in a past job, I couldn't overpay by a few thousand dollars....seriously, so I did them. They had dreamy flowers, really, for all the flowers and enuf leftover to fill the bathtub it cost less than the quotes I got for the bride bouquet alone. Truly! So we pooled our abilities, (Glenn and I made the pies, ironically he was a pastry chef in another life and could have made a fabulous wedding cake, he did both his sister's cakes, but we like pie better..) He tortured me with mock up wedding cakes to sample and pick from only to decide we liked fruit pies best! Glenn is a mad good cook, so he knew to ask the right questions for the caterers and they were FANTASTIC!

All in all it was a wedding with tons of personal touches throughout- and then adding the cast of characters these families unite, photo -op heaven.

Extremely satisfying, I'm just so pleased already I cannot tell you! I think they are so fun and so well done- they speak volumes for your talent and should be shared. I feel like the emotional happiness was captured- and everything came together to really make them extra special- mother nature included! Just exceptional. - All My Best, Heidi

I love the Sanderling in the Outer Banks, NC for any size wedding, so I was excited to be called into this intimate affair there in July. There were only 6 of them, the couple, parents and a nephew. I arrived to the groom trying to figure out how to put his flower one, she was there helping him, beforehand, the most sweet and innocent girl you have ever seen. Her demure of southern charm set the stage for this very short ceremony of laughs, hugs, and true true love. When I was taking the photos I mentioned they couldn't take their eyes off of each other, she laughed and in her southern drawl said, "Yes, we are SO in love" giggling, they headed off to the beach, hanging out for ten minutes insistent on not one single posed shot, truly "hanging out" with each other. If only everything in life couple be this simple and perfect.

We love Carova, it is past Corolla on the Outer Banks of NC. The only way to get there is by sand road, which makes it deserted and remote. The untouched sand, gorgeous greenery and long deserted beaches make me remember why I moved to the Outer Banks. This couple stayed 10 miles up this road, NOBODY was around.

Carova Beach, North Carolina

This barrier beach covers the upper stretches of the Outer Banks, North Carolina, and is the most undeveloped of an already spartan beach chain. Part of what keeps the region mellow is the lack of paved roads, with Highway 12 stopping north of Corolla. Four-wheel drive is a must, as the only route to these secluded U.S. beaches is a ride on the sand or a primitive system of dirt roads connecting vacation homes in the wooded interior. Drive slowly to see the wild horses (some are descendants of shipwrecked Spanish mustangs) that roam the protected dunes.

Although it doesn't match the above photos, I just had to put in this tid-bit. The groom wanted a Ken and Barbie look for his cake topper. Rene Landry from Blooms went for it, using pink sparkles for bathing suits. This Ken and Barbie cake topper photo made it to her Naughty Florist website, show us more, Rene, we love it!

This couple was married at the courthouse but never had a wedding, and certainly no wedding photos. They wanted it all, What can I say, I love to do these kinds of shoots, where the bride wants something unique and creative and wants to get the dress dirty and get wet. This very hot humid mid summer day was perfect for it. At the beginning of this shoot, we started at Nags Head Pier, using the shade from the pier for some beautifully lit shots, then we got wet, including myself and a camera, well worth it.

Guest Blogger:Carla Firetto Wedding 9/10

I love fireworks,we were even engaged on the 4th of July. In the 12 month time frame of our engagement so far, there has been both spikes and lulls in our wedding planning. Actually, to analogize, think of your typical fireworks display. It always starts off with a bang! (boom your engaged), and it continues with much ferocity. Then after some time passes, it kind of gets a little less exciting and you start to just anticipate the finale. Then comes the dramatic pause, when all is quite and you know the spectacle is just moments away. Finally, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Its here! And you realize what you’ve been waiting for the whole time – and recognize how much it was worth all the wait! So yeah, I guess its pretty obvious how much I love fireworks, eh? As our engagement is quickly approaching the finale, let me reflect back on the fireworks display that was my wedding planning:

Within two months of our engagement we had most (if not all) of my major vendors booked. The first two months was a frenzy of fun wedding planning. Ideas were brainstormed and options were limitless. If I recall from memory, I booked my Photographer about simultaneous to my venue (my two most important vendors). My DJ and Officiant came next, but all were done on the same weekend one year prior to our future wedding date, actually. After that major weekend of decisions, we kind of had the skeleton for much of the wedding. Sure, minor details like the “do not play list” and the dinner entrees were still TBD, much of the framework was already set. Since then, I have obviously fleshed out much of the filler: the entire wedding party has their attire, my cake topper is in hand, and my flowers are all picked out. Then, the last few weeks have kind of been this silence. I flip in between the “everything is done” and “nothing is done” with moments notice, not necessarily accomplishing very much. I don't imagine it will be much longer before the finale starts and a frenzy of wedding finishing touches moves to the top of my “to do” list. Until then, I’m eagerly anticipating the wonderful finale of my wedding, which is just around the corner!

Beachy Bright-Getting Married on a Sunny Day on the Beach can have its positives with timing, but make sure you are prepared with water and shade for every guest if it gets too hot. It worked out fantastic for this bride and groom because they had a very short wedding ceremony of 5-10 minutes. Then they splashed and put their feet in the water . . . .View the Beach at the same location and same time of year to get an idea of what it will look like, don't assume it will be deserted. It's best to ask your vendors where a less used beach is for your private ceremony like these two.
