Fun Family Time at the Whalehead Club

I had such a nice afternoon with Jessica Chapman of The Sanderling Resort visiting the Whalehead Club the other day. Her son Jonathan is precious! He has so many funny faces and is such a “ham” in front of the camera.  The family did not know what to expect at first as all of my clients, then when they started climbing trees and laying down in the grass, we all started laughing and having such a great time.  It was truly enjoyable.  Thanks a bunch Jessica for the opportunity to photograph your lovely family! – Julie

My friend, Amanda, and her girls

I’ve been looking forward to this one.  Amanda is so so cool and beautiful and it rubbed off on her girls.  This was such a fun shoot!  We jumped off sand dunes, played with the dog, watched the fishermen catch a ton of trout right behind us, and watched the last moments of the sun go down last Sat night.  What a night . . .

Having fun with “FIRST LOOK”

Vanessa could be my friend for life, sweet and shy, yet funny and thoughtful, I love her.  She asked what piece of advice I would give if I had the chance.  I said go for the things that truly add to your wedding, make it personal, include what you love about each other and life . . . and always always have a good time.  She felt that they would be a little bit nervous seeing each other for the first time at the altar, so she took my words to heart-Seeing each other beforehand with goofy glasses that they actually used for their “thank  you” cards, do it yourself flowers, and even a little bit of “Star Wars” was included just for him.  We had the best time on the beach frolicking around before going across the street to the Whalehead where they were married.  They kept joking with each other and felt completely relaxed once they got to the altar. More goodies to come on this one!

A Dog of a Wedding

This wedding is what a simple girl dreams of.  Completely romantic and perfectly deserted, just the two of them and the kids and dogs attending.  I suggested that they put glasses on a table for their Outer Banks traditional sand ceremony that all of our brides and grooms do.  They visited a local antique dealer in downtown New York to get the glasses.  As for the dog collar holding the rings, any hardware store will do . . .how totally cute!  The vintage accents and quiet ceremony beside the sunset way up in Carova where the horses roam was breathtaking, completely utterly romantic.

Jay Bowman, A Great Choice-

I have to admit it helps to have the most amazing beach backdrop on the east coast of the States, but Jay Bowman’s beach ceremonies are known for their energy, and he is known to be just a great guy.  I had the opportunity to photograph his family last week and of course, these same great traits run thoroughout the whole family.
