Fireworks and Planning your Wedding-Bang!
Guest Blogger: Carla Firetto Wedding 9/10
I love fireworks,we were even engaged on the 4th of July. In the 12 month time frame of our engagement so far, there has been both spikes and lulls in our wedding planning. Actually, to analogize, think of your typical fireworks display. It always starts off with a bang! (boom your engaged), and it continues with much ferocity. Then after some time passes, it kind of gets a little less exciting and you start to just anticipate the finale. Then comes the dramatic pause, when all is quite and you know the spectacle is just moments away. Finally, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Its here! And you realize what you’ve been waiting for the whole time – and recognize how much it was worth all the wait! So yeah, I guess its pretty obvious how much I love fireworks, eh? As our engagement is quickly approaching the finale, let me reflect back on the fireworks display that was my wedding planning:
Within two months of our engagement we had most (if not all) of my major vendors booked. The first two months was a frenzy of fun wedding planning. Ideas were brainstormed and options were limitless. If I recall from memory, I booked my Photographer about simultaneous to my venue (my two most important vendors). My DJ and Officiant came next, but all were done on the same weekend one year prior to our future wedding date, actually. After that major weekend of decisions, we kind of had the skeleton for much of the wedding. Sure, minor details like the “do not play list” and the dinner entrees were still TBD, much of the framework was already set. Since then, I have obviously fleshed out much of the filler: the entire wedding party has their attire, my cake topper is in hand, and my flowers are all picked out. Then, the last few weeks have kind of been this silence. I flip in between the “everything is done” and “nothing is done” with moments notice, not necessarily accomplishing very much. I don’t imagine it will be much longer before the finale starts and a frenzy of wedding finishing touches moves to the top of my “to do” list. Until then, I’m eagerly anticipating the wonderful finale of my wedding, which is just around the corner!

Never considered fireworks for my wedding, thanks for the idea, I think my girlfriend will love it
Sparklers are a huge thing at Outer Banks weddings and are gorgeous right after sunset. Fireworks on the Outer Banks are allowed if you have a person from the fire department on hand during them. So it’s go small or go big, no in-between. Every time they are a huge hit, we love them too!
